| Personal History | T’Sal is the second child of Xon and Volkis, with three younger brothers, one younger sister, and one older sisters. She was born on Vulcan in 2344. Her father was a notable Starfleet admiral during the late 23rd century, and towards the early 24th, who helped negotiate various treaties such as the Treaty of Algeron with the Romulan empire. Her mother was a teacher at the Vulcan Sciences Institute in Raal, who spent most of her time on Vulcan. Growing up, she demonstrated an amazing talent for engineering. Her mother wanted to divert her towards science and technology, but instead she followed her father’s wishes, and joined Starfleet. She majored in Warp Mechanics at Starfleet Academy, graduating as Valedictorian. Despite her academic achievements, she did very little in terms of socializing. She was assigned to the USS Exeter in 2362. She served for 4 years as an engineer before being assigned to the design team for the Defiant-class escort as an ancilliary warp field consultant. Following the USS Defiant’s failure in testing, she was reassigned again to the USS Sutherland as an engineer in 2368, with a promotion to Lieutenant Junior Grade. She served aboard the ship during the Dominion War, receiving a battlefield promotion to Lieutenant in 2373, and being assigned as the ship’s assistant chief engineer. During the Dominion War, she gained a reputation for efficiency in rapid overhaul of ship systems. In 2375, following the end of the Dominion War, she was reassigned to the USS Alliance as Chief Engineer. |
